THE BREAKTHROUGH REMANUFACTORY

Re-using premium technology calls for professional remanufacturing. This opens up new potentials for our industry.

REMANUFACTURING SKILLS

HOW TO RECREATE UNIQUE TECHNOLOGY

What exactly does remanufacturing mean? Dr. Winifred Ijomah, senior lecturer at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, talks about necessary preconditions and skills to successfully give used products a new life cycle.

PRESERVING VALUES TOGETHER

PREMIUM BY DEFINITION

Herrenknecht sets standards in mechanized tunnelling – also in the reuse of already proven components. With maximum transparency and without sacrificing quality, safety and reliability.

THE DIFFERENCE IN BRIEF

REMANUFACTURING VS. REFURBISHMENT

To date the term "rebuilding" has not been used precisely in the tunnelling industry. In personal conversations and negotiations this can often lead to misunderstandings. Herrenknecht follows the new, binding international ITA guidelines and in many respects goes beyond these minimum standards.

The basic philosophy is establishing a full new life cycle for the product with sufficient life to complete the new project.

Remanufactured systems and components are considered to be at least “as new”.

Typical project application
Projects without special challenges where full component lifetime and a “state of the art” set of requirements for the machinery exist.

After successful completion of a tunnelling project, systems or subassemblies are employed at a different project in the original configuration or with modifications.
