REMANUFACTURING VS. REFURBISHMENT

To date the term "rebuilding" has not been used precisely in the tunnelling industry. In personal conversations and negotiations this can often lead to misunderstandings. Herrenknecht follows the new, binding international ITA guidelines and in many respects goes beyond these minimum standards.

The basic philosophy is establishing a full new life cycle for the product with sufficient life to complete the new project.

Remanufactured systems and components are considered to be at least “as new”.

Typical project application
Projects without special challenges where full component lifetime and a “state of the art” set of requirements for the machinery exist.

After successful completion of a tunnelling project, systems or subassemblies are employed at a different project in the original configuration or with modifications.
